Wu-Tang Clan Details “A Better Tomorrow” Challenges, Debuts “Ron O’Neal” On “The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”

Wu-Tang Clan members were guests on The Daily Show With Jon Stewart yesterday (August 6). During the interview, RZA spoke about the group, referencing the Wu’s upcoming album, A Better Tomorrow.

“We’re all striving for a better tomorrow,” RZA said. “Wu-Tang, we all have something in common with each other, a brotherhood, a respect. When we say a better tomorrow, we’re striving to make a better tomorrow for ourselves, but also to inspire a better tomorrow for the world.”

Raekwon, who reportedly had reservations about reuniting with Wu-Tang for the upcoming release, spoke on challenges the group faced when Stewart asked if the group’s challenges were creative, business or political.

“I would say it’s all of these things,” Raekwon said. “We’re trailblazers in the music business. We’re doing our job. I consider this a sport. So, I think it’s an important, as an athlete of music, to make sure you have your business together and make sure that you feel happy at whatever you want to do. You just gotta feel good about it and know that, at the end of the day, you got your i’s dotted and your t’s crossed in business because we have families. We go out there and work for our families. My thing is, if I’m not gonna see my children and I’m out here doing a job, I think it’s important for me to go out there, do what I say I’m gonna do, get back home to them and hit up Disneyland.”

Wu-Tang is prepping the release of A Better Tomorrow as well as their multi-million dollar album, Wu – Once Upon A Time In Shaolin.

In May, Wu-Tang announced a truce between RZA and Raekwon following a back-and-forth between the two regarding A Better Tomorrow.

During the group’s The Daily Show appearance, they also presented their new single, “Ron O’Neal.”

    1. selling 1 copy of an album for a million dollars, I dont care what artists releases the album, no album is worth a million dollars. Shit is probably trash anyway, last few wu-tang albums have been garbage.

    2. This is off their actual album….the one selling for a million will not have any songs played by wutang anyway

    3. thats the whitest place they could have ever performed. smart when you think abut who really buys wu albums

      1. ^^^ LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

And these niccas be spittin some mad racist shit, talkin bout the “white man is the devil”, and all these white kids be up there noddin heads and shit

        bunch of fuckin peasants

      1. They are the GOATS! They had one classic and a tribe called quest and public enemy had CLASSICS ALBUM. Do your research before commenting

      2. Only one classic are you serious they have put out 5 albums to date, two of them are classics with 36 Chambers and Wu-Tang Forever. If you count solo albums then you have to include GZA’s “Liquid Sword”, Method Man’s “Tical”, Rakewon’s “Only Built 4 Cuban Linx”, Ghostface Killah’s “Ironman” & “Supreme Clientele.” It is hard to argue with the fact that from one group who has had more classic albums. A Tribe Called Quest had two classics, I’m a huge fan of them but they had “Midnight Marauders” & “The Low End Theory” and the rest are good not classic status though. They had some solo projects but none reach classic status, so Wu-Tang wins by numbers.

    4. Who needs Wu some old farts. Now we have: Ross, Drake, Wayne. This is the new generation of rappers.

    5. That is actually the nicest verse I have heard from RZA in a while. Pretty ill track, excited for the new album. Good to see Chef up there with the Clan, but I was never worried. He was the hold up on the last album, and had more verses than anybody.

    6. A better tomorrow is not the one million dollar album, thats once upon a time in shaolin and its already done

    7. The beat and the hook make the song instant-forgettable. Still, it’s nice to hear five members on one track. Expexted much more though. Cheers to my Wu-Tang mates all over the world!
