The Game is the biggest thing in hip-hop right now. While carrying the torch of the West Coast and attempting to resurrect Compton since the days of NWA, The Documentary has exceeded expectations. But what if he never joined Dr. Dre? What if he never had the G-Unit? Well there was a time when The Game may have been somewhere else.
On the album, Game talks about his experiences with many of the biggest labels heavy hitters and one has to wonder “What If?” He name-drops the likes of Suge Knight, Kevin Liles, Sylvia Rhone, P. Diddy, and the heads of Roc-A-Fella and Murder Inc.
“We called Puff and said, ‘No hard feelings, no love lost, but we’re going with Dre…Me and Puff still been good friends since then, and I plan on working with Puff in the future outside of rap,” Game said to MTV. Apparently Game had been after P. Diddy but the Bad Boy leader was busy with Black Rob and Loon. By the time Diddy came around, it was too late.
In the meantime, The Game’s album,The Documentary, looks to surpass Gold status (500,000 records sold) in the first week of release.
