We reported a few weeks ago that Lil Wayne may have been leaving his home of Cash Money Records to join Jay-Z over at Def Jam. But the speculation is no more, Lil Wayne is still a part of Cash Money.
Even though Wayne himself sparked the rumors by appearing on several radio stations stating the he would be the next addition to the new and improved Def Jam, what sounded like a career defining move was put to rest by his publicist.
“Lil’ Wayne is still on Cash Money/Universal and his label Young Money Entertainment is through Cash Money/Universal as well,” Lil Wayne’s publicist CJ Robinson confirmed with AllHipHop.com.
So not only is Wayne still with Cash Money, but his Young Money Entertainment label is still under the Cash Money/Universal umbrella as well. The label features MTV Freestyle emcee Mack Maine and New Orleans based Curren$y.
