Snoop Dogg Announces Battle Rap Plans For BET Hip Hop Awards

Taking to his Instagram and Twitter accounts to make a vague announcement about a planned battle rap segment at the upcoming BET Hip Hop Awards, Snoop Dogg says he’s working together with Murda Mook on “something real big for the Hip Hop battle scene.” The news comes just weeks after Eminem’s Shady Films and Slaughterhouse promoted their Total Slaughter brand with the league’s inaugural event in New York.

In an Instagram clip, Snoop says, “Me and my nigga Murda Mook fitting to come at you with something real big for the Hip Hop battle scene. Be on the lookout.”

Shortly after, Snoop added a second clip that makes reference to his hosting the BET Hip Hop Awards show.

“Yo Mook, I don’t think they heard us,” he says. “We about to do the something real big for the Hip Hop battle scene. I’m hosting the BET Hip Hop Awards again this year, but I got something real special planned this time.” After hosting the ceremony in 2013, Snoop will again host this year’s show in Atlanta for a scheduled October 15 air-date.

Also today, Snoop reached out to several notable battlers on Twitter with requests for contact information.

    1. Hell yeah. If it’s the “Hip Hop Awards” I think it should be a reflection of hip hop culture and rap. I really dig the cyphers that BET brings and the fact that it brings underground rappers to a bigger audience. I really hope the battles work out.

      1. The problem with Chief Keef is that he doesn’t have skill. Like he aint even trying anymore.

There are some wack as fuck rappers out there, but you gotta respect their hustle. They trying! Keef declines every passing month. Fuck that faggot.
