T.I.’s “Stay” Leaks

Despite plans to release the song as a Samsung “exclusive,” a Paperwork track leaked in the form of “Stay” earlier this week. Speaking with Houston’s 93.7, T.I. explained the unofficial release of the song. “I think we were expecting for it to remain within Samsung consumers, and some kind of way someone was dishonest and it leaked,” he said before adding, “it’s for the best.”

Addressing the content of the song itself which may detail his own personal relationship, T.I. explained the songwriting process as “a fictional set of circumstances sprinkled with some reality” according to BET. “As much as people would like to associate it to things that are personal to me…the way that it makes better sense in my mind, if I kind of remove myself from it and just listen to the record and imagine as though I was creating a fictional set of circumstances, sprinkled with some reality,” he said. “It’s easier for me to conceptualize it that way, that way it don’t feel like people all up in my business.”

T.I.’s Paperwork is reportedly scheduled for release on an unconfirmed date in September.

Nicki Minaj Remixes August Alsina’s “No Love”

With the original version on the R&B singer’s debut album Testimony in April, August Alsina released a Nicki Minaj remix of “No Love” earlier this week. With Minaj making an initial adlib cameo during the introduction—“I swear this is my favorite song, I’m serious,” she says—the rapper returns with a short verse and some singing near the end of the track. “You can’t treat me like you treat them,” she raps, “Yes I am la crème de la crème / Yes I am from 1 to 10, 10 / You frontin’ in them streets sayin’ we just friends.”
