Rumors of tension between Atlanta rapper T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle spread quickly following an altercation between T.I. and boxer Floyd Mayweather and the events and commentary that followed. And with the release of T.I.’s “Stay” and Tiny’s “What The F**k You Gon’ Do,” it appears that the couple has chosen to address the status of their relationship through song.

But in a newly-released interview with Vibe magazine, Tiny has spoken out publicly on her relationship with the Grand Hustle lyricist. She revealed that they’re both “working on the relationship” and addressed both of their songs.

“Will our music affect our real-life relationship? I really don’t know,” Tiny said. “I mean if it does, I hope it’s in a good way. Hopefully, it works out in our favor in the end. All I know is that I’m working on it. We’re working on it.”

In regards to the release of “Stay” and “What The F**k You Gon’ Do,” the former Xscape songstress says the couple did not plan to release the two songs at the same time. She also revealed that her record is a year old.

“My new song is a statement,” she said. “Some people might say, why put your business in a song? It’s because this is my life and my truth and this is how I choose to express it. I wrote this song a year ago. I never planned to put it out. It was therapy for me. At the time, I was really going through a lot. Stuff that the public didn’t know and still doesn’t know. And over the past year, as things have unfolded publicly, people expected me to speak on it. And then I realized, I did speak on all of this, a year ago, in this song. So it made sense to release it.

“I know it’s hard to believe, but we did not plan for these songs to come out at the same time,” the singer added. “T.I. did not hear my song until the whole world did.”

Earlier this week, T.I. casually responded to remarks Mayweather made during a press conference about sleeping with Tiny.

“I hope he is enjoying himself. God bless him,” T.I. said after being approached by TMZ about the matter.
