BabyPaul, the producer known for his work with Nas and AZ, has signed New Jersey rapper Drift to his D.O.E./ Transparency label.

“It is an exciting undertaking to be able to work with the next best artists coming up in the marketplace,” BabyPaul said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “Having just completed Brooklyn artist Patrick Toussaint’s project for third quarter and now working with Drift representing New Jersey, I feel good having such great new talent on my label roster.”

Executive produced by BabyPaul, Drift’s EP is due out in late 2014.

“I’m humbled to have joined forces with a producer I’ve admired for as long as I’ve aspired to be an artist,” Drift said.

Drift was featured in the music videos for DJ Khaled’s “Never Surrender” and Yo Gotti’s “Don’t Come Around. “As of late I’ve been more recognized for my acting in music videos, so I’m grateful for the opportunity to showcase my true strength which is emceeing,” Drift said.

BabyPaul produced “Destroy & Rebuild” on Nas’ 2001 album Stillmatic, which peaked at #5. He also co-produced “I Feel 4 U” on AZ’s Doe Or Die: 15th Anniversary, and “Red Magic,” the single from AZ’s upcoming Doe Or Die 2.
