Beef is what 50 Cent thrives on. So why stop doing what helped build your name? On Funkmaster Flex’s radio show in New York on Wednesday night, 50’s new song “Piggy Bank” debuted. The song takes shots at the likes of Nas, Kelis, Jadakiss, Fat Joe and arch rival Ja Rule.
While it is pretty clear as to why 50 dissed Ja, what isn’t clear is why he took shots at the others. Apparently 50 took offense to the fact that Fat Joe and Jadakiss appeared on Ja’s hit song “New York.”
“They co-signed that one,” said 50 to MTV. “Even people who were on the outskirts, like, ‘Nah, I don’t want no part of it’ and ‘Y’all need to just chill’ — they have cameos [in the video,] saying, ‘I’m From New York!’ ”
50 also fired lyrical bullets at Nas and Kelis for his supposed dissing of the G-Unit at his New York Central Park show this past summer. No word on how the recipients of the dis will retaliate. Until then 50’s much anticipated album St. Valentine’s Day Massacre has been pushed back to March 8th which really doesn’t make it St. Valentine’s Day-ish does it?
