With the hip-hop world holding it’s collective breath waiting on the artist formally known as Sense to release his next album, Common has much bigger things than hip-hop on his plate. He will be focusing on a children’s book as well as his new foundation called The Common Ground Foundation.
While we reported earlier that brother Common has tackled the life threatening AIDS epidemic with the “Knowing is Beautiful” campaign, he will turn Ais attention to the youth as well. First he has laid the groundwork for his Common Ground Foundation focused at helping our youth taking care of themselves. Second he will release a book in the same vein as predecessors LL Cool J, DJ Q-Bert and Doug E Fresh focused at grabbing the attention of kids age 7 and up.
Even though he has his attention on healing the world, don’t think that Common’s album titled BE will be “childish.” Word has it that he is tapping into hip-hop’s golden years to bring that raw hip hop back. No word on when BE will be released.
