For years many of hip-hop’s “underground” movement have yearned for the day that Ghostface would do a song with abstract underground favorites MF Doom and El-P. Now reports have surfaced that Ghost will indeed get down with both of the underground’s champions on two separate projects.

While this is a hip-hop head’s wet dream it is also something that has been a long time coming. With Doom and Ghost both have been mainstays in the industry with their abstract yet appealing sound as well as their taste in Marvel read-a-long records and 60’s superhero cartoons. With Ghost and Definitive Jux’s leader El-P, they both embrace a rugged sound and have always sounded like a match made in heaven.

El-P will be collaborating with Ghost for Prefuse 73’s “H.Y.F. (Hide Ya Face)”, which will be taken from the forthcoming Prefuse album due in spring of 2005. Ghost and El-P (who doubles as producer and emcee) will be trading verses over a beat by Prefuse. A remix by El-P is also in the works.

Details on the Doom/Ghost team-up are still tightly under wraps but MF Doom did confirm that the two will collab on BBC radio last week. We’ll keep you posted.
