As the 2001 Source Hip-Hop Awards approaches, everyone is gearing up for either the best or most screwed up awards show of the year. In an effort to help our taste buds The Source has recently announced the talent lineup that will move the crowd, this year. According to a press statement, the artists scheduled to perform at the Jackie Gleason Theatre in Miami on August 20th are as follows: P-Diddy, Mary J. Blige, Nelly, Ja Rule, and M.O.P. with rock group Crazy Town.

Some of the already set award winners/honorees include L.L.Cool J, who’s being presented with the “Lifetime Achievement Award, and Ray Lewis who will receive “The Source Sports Athlete of the Year.” As well, the day before the awards The Source usually holds “The Hip-Hop Image Awards” dinner, which takes place to benefit The Source Youth Foundation. This foundation presents an award to an artist, a record label, an athlete, a radio producer and a fashion designer, who have represented Hip-Hop in a positive light.

Just to wrap up the 2001 Source Hip-Hop Awards 2001 will air on the UPN channel August 28.
