Damn!!! The Wu had just performed together at sold-out performanceat The Theater at the Continental Airlines Arena for their first joint East Coast appearance in five years. Everything was looking good and now this…ODB is dead!!!!

According to Gabe Tesoriero, a spokesman for Roc-A-Fella records “ODB collapsed and died inside a Manhattan recording studio Saturday, November 13, 2004. He was 35. ODB had complained of chest pains before collapsing on the floor of 36 Records LLC just two days short of his 36th birthday. He was dead by the time paramedics reached him,” Tesoriero said.

ODB was pronounced dead at 5:04 p.m

GhostFace Killah, who was present when his friend’s body was brought out of the W. 34th St. studio three hours later made a statement saying, “This ain’t no joke. This is real life, just like you lose your mother, or your brother. This is a big loss,” said Killah, “He had complained of chest pain. He’s with God now…He’s in good hands.”

The madman of the Wu had been preparing a comeback album for Roc-A-Fella and was slated to perform in a Wu-Tang reunion show at Continental Airlines Arena Friday, November 5th…but he didn’t show

ODB’s last moments were spent working at what he loved, Hip Hop in the fifth-floor Manhattan studio, where a 911 call was made at 4:45 p.m., according to HHDX sources. It’s not known as of yet who made the call and who all were in the studio at the time ODB collapsed.

According to HHDX sources there was no obvious cause of death and no signs of illegal drug use at the scene. According to the NYC coroners office a autopsy will be performed Sunday, November 14, 2004.

HHDX offers it’s condolences to the family, children and friend of ODB and the entire Wu-Tang Clan…keep yo’ head up. RIP ODB.
