Big Sean and Naya Rivera, engaged in October 2013, have called off plans for a wedding, according to Billboard.
“After careful thought and much consideration, Sean has made the difficult decision to call the wedding off,” Big Sean’s camp says in a statement. “The recent rumors and accusations reported by so-called or fake sources are simply untrue. Sean wishes Naya nothing but the best and it is still his hope that they can continue to work through their issues privately. We will not be commenting again on this matter.”
The couple met through social media, according to Rivera, an actress and singer.
“I had followed him [on Twitter], and he sent me a little message like, ‘I’m a fan,'” Rivera said to Access Hollywood in September 2013. “We went to dinner and the rest is history.”
In June 2013, Sean spoke with MTV about his relationship with Rivera. “Me and Naya is a great thing,” Sean said. “She’s awesome. She takes care of me…That’s my homey, more than anything. That’s my girl.”
Big Sean rapped about his relationship with Rivera on Drake’s “All Me,” referencing her acting role in “Glee.”
“My new girl is on Glee and shit,” Sean raps on the song. “Probably making more money than me and shit / I swear to God, I got 99 problems but a bitch ain’t one / I got 99 problems, getting rich ain’t one.”
I called this as soon as they announced it. You don’t get engaged after a couple months when you’re famous and in the prime time of your career.
Apparently he stole a Rolex off her when he left and she called him out on twitter, even referenced his rap about her making more money than him!
