Today (March 13), TMZ reports that Petey Pablo was released from prison following two years for gun-smuggling.

On September 11, 2010, Pablo was arrested after law enforcement officials say the rapper attempted to smuggle a stolen gun through airport security. The rapper was sentenced to 35 months in a federal prison and was released four months ahead of his former scheduled release date, the publication says.

“I’m now headed to the work shop to begin what will be noted as my best work ever with one of the greatest producers of all time,” Pablo says.

TMZ reports that Pablo’s comment regarding “one of the greatest producers of all time” is a reference to his upcoming work with Timbaland.

In 2011, Pablo spoke with HipHopDX about his then pending legal woes. “I always feel confident,” he said at the time. “In the end, the truth always comes to the light. And, regardless of what the outcome is, I’m a man. And whatever has been written in my book of life is written in my book of life. So whatever the outcome of any situation is, I have no choice but to handle it.”
