Game of Thrones has announced its Catch The Throne mixtape, which is set to be available on March 11. The project is slated to feature Wale, Common, Snow Tha Product and Big Boi, among others, on original songs inspired by the HBO series.
The mixtape is set to drop nearly a month in advance of the show’s new season, which is scheduled to air April 6.
“We wanted to drop it a month in advance because people tend to binge-watch, especially now that winter is here,” Lucinda Martinez, HBO’s senior VP of cultural marketing says in a press released according to Billboard. “And the idea of having a bunch of artists create songs in different style[s] with different interpretations of what Game of Thrones is to them as artists could be an interesting way to get people engaged to watch it.”
In February, Big Boi spoke about his involvement with this mixtape.
