In advance of the 86th Academy Awards, which is slated to take place in Los Angeles today (March 2), Juicy J says every acceptance speech should include at least one specific thank you.

“I think they should thank God, man, you know what I’m saying,” the Memphis rapper-producer says during an interview with MTV. “I don’t hear a lot of people thanking God for their acceptance speeches. They be just like, ‘Yo, thank this person.’ You should thank everybody, and thank God as well, you know what I’m saying. It it wasn’t for Him, we wouldn’t even be here.”

Juicy J won an Oscar for “Best Original Song” in 2006 for “It’s Hard Out Here For A Pimp,” Three 6 Mafia’s song on the Hustle & Flow soundtrack, which was credited to Djay f. Shug. Djay was the character portrayed by Terrence Howard.

Juicy J, whose Never Sober Tour with Project Pat and Travis Scott stopped at the House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina yesterday (March 1), offered another suggestion for Oscar nominees.

“Just don’t be drunk,” he says. “You know, be sober the whole show. And if you win, or if you don’t win or whatever, then get drunk after the show. That’s what I did, you know what I’m saying. I was super sober and after the show, after we won, I actually tried to get drunk. But I couldn’t because I was super tired. But I was drunk, a little bit.”
