DJ Paul says Da Mafia 6ix’s forthcoming Triple 6ix Sinners Tour will feature a special guest. “Gangsta Boo is going to be there, so will Crunchy Black, Koopsta Knicca, and a special appearance by Lord Infamous,” DJ Paul says in an interview with Toledo City Paper. “We’re bringing his casket out. We’re bringing it to every show. I wanted him to be there. I’m that kind of guy—a weird, kinda creepy kind of guy. I had to pay a lot of money to get an extended tour trailer that would fit his casket and all of the merch.”
The 50-city Triple 6ix Sinners Tour is slated to begin February 28 in the group’s hometown of Memphis and is to support DJ Paul, Gangsta Boo, Lord Infamous, Crunchy Black and Koopsta Knicca’s 6ix Commandments mixtape. The tour follows the December 2013 of passing of Lord Infamous. Lord Infamous, who is DJ Paul’s brother, is the one who encouraged DJ Paul to form Da Mafia 6ix.
DJ Paul says that he expected Lord Infamous to pass away because of his past. “He escaped death so many times, from getting into car accidents, to run-ins with the police, to getting robbed,” DJ Paul says. “We used to call him the cat because he had so many lives. He was the nicest guy, and he really didn’t care about anything except his kids. He wasn’t a very materialistic person. On that night, I finally turned my ringer off, because I was tired of people calling me. So the next day, Twitter and Facebook knew before I did. A couple of tears came down, and then they stopped. People told me it was ok to cry, that I didn’t need to be a tough guy, but I was just prepared for it.”
Lord Infamous is slated to appear on Da Mafia 6ix’s forthcoming album, which is scheduled for a June 6 release. “He [Lord Infamous] had vocals in the can, so he’ll be on the record,” DJ Paul says. “He has three kids, so we need to take care of them. His royalties will go to them. I’m going to put the money in an account and give it to them when they turn 18. We’re going to bring the album out on June sixth, 6/6. And do you know what the 14 [of 2014] represents? We’ve lost one, and there’s four still standing.”
