Talib Kweli and 9th Wonder are set to release a collaborative album, a project that Kweli recently compared to Dr. Dre’s The Chronic album.

“The idea is that you have an album like The Chronic,”Kweli says in an interview with San Francisco radio station 106 KMEL. “The Chronic is a beautiful, powerful, excellent piece of recording that everybody likes…You can’t front on The Chronic. There hasn’t been a conscious or…thematically uplifting…album that is a compilation that has struck a chord like The Chronic and that’s what we are trying to create.”

Kweli says that there is no official title for the album, but says a tentative crew name they have is B.A.D., which stands for Build and Destroy Gang.
