Although his movie career has taken off in the last few years and become so huge that he created his own company, CubeVision, Ice Cube says his latest role is different from anything he’s ever done. “This movie’s taking up a lot of time”, he said of his starring role in “XXX: State if the Union” the sequel to “XXX”. The work on the film has caused Ice Cube to push back the release of his album that he hoped to have out by the end of 2004.
Ice Cube planned to work on his new album with Dr. Dre but talks have been up in the air lately as to when that would begin. “I don’t know if that situation is gonna work out, but who knows. Dre got real busy last year, and the year before that he dropped 50. So I’m doing my thing, he doing his. I’d love to work with him”.
Cube has had time to hit the studio to record a track with the crunk man himself Lil Jon. “I did a single with Lil Jon. He form the dirty dirty, so it’s gotta be gutter. He flew out here and we put it down. I think he’s doin’ a rock version of it. I’ts called “The Real N***a Roll Call “, so we had to do it right”. Cube hopes to have his new album out by the fall of 2005 and “XXX: State of the Union” will be released on May 13th.
