At the 2004 Source Awards in Miami,Kanye West and Lil’ Jon took top priority by taking home three awards each. Kanye West’sCollege Dropout garnered album of the year and also helped him take home Breakthrough Artist of the Year. His single “Through the Wire” landed him with Video of the Year.

Lil’ Jon took home Producer of the Year honors as well as Single of the Year for his collab with the Youngbloodz on “Damn.” He also took home R&B/Rap Collaboration of the year for his work on Usher’s “Yeah!”

Other winners included Jay-Z, Ying Yang Twins, Alicia Keyes, Terror Squad, Usher and Ludacris while Minister Louis Farrakhan was given a special award. Russell Simmons appeared despite rumored hostility between the Def Jam mogul and The Source to present Minister Farrakhan with the award.

The show is scheduled to air November 30th on BET
