A charitable auction is being held to spend a day with DJ Skee, a television show host and deejay. The auction is meant to benefit students in Los Angeles’ After-School All-Stars, an after school program that says it focuses on academic support, homework assistance, arts, health awareness, leadership and community service learning, among other things.
“I’ve been involved with After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles for many years now,” DJ Skee says in a press release. “The opportunity to engage in an online auction to benefit the kids [in the program] is surely something worthwhile to me.
“It will be a fun afternoon,” DJ Skee continues. “The auction provides me the opportunity to give back to the LA community. This city has given me a lot of opportunities…it feels good to give back to the people in L.A. that need it the most.”
The After-School All Stars, Los Angeles website states an overview of the program. “At each After-School All-Star school site, academic learning support, including homework assistance is provided,” the site says. “After students complete their homework assignments, activities are created incorporating three pillars of program: Visual and Performing Arts; Heath, Nutrition and Physical Fitness; Leadership, Character Development & Community Service Learning.”
