RZA is set to compete in the Hip-Hop Chess Federation’s 8-person Chess Kings Invitational celebrity tournament, scheduled to take place at the Anaheim Business Expo on Sunday February 16, 2014. Portions of the proceeds from the event are slated to help fund after school programs in South Los Angeles schools, according to The Hip-Hop Chess Federation (HHCF) founder Adisa “The Bishop” Banjoko.

“This event will help get HHCF the funds to start to after school programs in South Central Los Angeles,” Banjoko said, according to The Urban Daily. “I have chosen Santee High School as one, and the other will be determined by RZA, our Director of Outreach.”

Wu-Tang Clan co-founder RZA also commented on his involvement with the tournament.
