T-Pain Details Unreleased Diss Track Kanye West Made About Him

T-Pain says in an interview published on vladtv.com today (January 22) that Kanye West recorded a diss track toward him while they were making 808s & Heartbreak together.

“He came up with this song for me, and it wasn’t a good song,” T-Pain says during the vladtv.com interview. “It was basically describing how wack my ideas was that I was coming up with. And he made everybody in the studio join in with him to sing like, ‘T-Pain’s shit is weak.’”

T-Pain says the unreleased song was “pretty lyrical” and that he thought it would be released. “I actually thought he should have put that on the record at some point,” he said. “But it would have been a diss record. I thought that was pretty fucked up.”

Earlier this month, T-Pain said in an interview with DJ Vlad that the similarities between Rappa Ternt Sanga and 808s & Heartbreak and the lack of credit he received as the originator of the Auto-Tune technique once Ye’s album was released left him feeling unappreciated.

“I respect that shit, but it’s like the praise that he got from it was like, ‘Oh my God, this is so creative. This is the new shit. This is the shit,’” T-Pain said. “And I’m like, ‘Well, what happened in 2005 when I dropped Rappa Ternt Sanga and it was the same album. That’s kind of weird.’ You know what I’m saying. It just felt like I was unappreciated and anything like that. Any originator of anything is gonna be the lesser-known because it’s the newest thing and that’s just not—it’s not right, but that’s just how shit goes.”

    1. T Pain really think anything he released was on the level of 808s & Heartbreaks? Thats a sad story. 808s is a classic. TPain is just TPain.

      1. I hate it when people express opinions as if they are fact smh Rapper Ternt Sanga was tight as hell and way better than Kanye’s experimental auto-tune bullshit. Nobody wanted to hear that shit from that nigga.

    2. LOL get off KANYES DICK TPAIN!!!

this dude is started to look like a fucking idiot with everything he says

YEEZY is the GOAT. Enough said.

    3. I feel like if you took the best half of 808’s and the 4 good songs from Yeesus, you’d have one solid album.

    4. 808s and HEARTBREAK was not a classic u stupid pitiful weak son of a dying bitch how dare u say sum bogus ass shit like that while im on this website, u Anonymous needle dick having ass dont know shit about music. Let me guess ILLMATIC is a classic too right? Get the f out of here thats like saying REASONABLE DOUBT is better than KINGDOM CUM

      1. Not classic for hip-hop’s sake but dude it changed the whole landscape of Electropop and mainstream rap’s sound. Drake, Kid Cudi, B.o.B., Childish Gambino, Future (by use of auto-tune with the help of T-Pain) etc. A lot of these dudes careers were birthed off of that album alone, that right there makes it a classic not to mention the solid production, decent lyrcism and key melodies. Kanye couldn’t sing at all on that project but yet he still made it worth while. People really have to stop letting Yeezus affect how they feel about Kanye’s career overall. The College Dropout birthed artist like Lupe Fiasco, while Late Registration open the gateway for backpackers and Graduation well it was just great. Let’s not forget My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy had dudes going all orchestrated trying hard to copy that flawlessly produced album. Every Kanye album so far has either changed the game or influenced artist to take that direction. Whether you like, love or hate him the facts can’t be denied, Kanye has 5 out right classics. Depending on how you feel about Yeezus it could be labeled a classic because now artist (that actually do industrial correct) like Death Grips & Cities Aviv may shine and trust me in 5 years or hell even this year people will be screaming over dance-hall, electronic influenced type beats soon. Kanye has always had the blueprint and people whether they admit it or not do follow it. And one last note didn’t he change the game production wise too? Oh.

      2. “Drake, Kid Cudi, B.o.B., Childish Gambino, Future (by use of auto-tune with the help of T-Pain) etc. A lot of these dudes careers were birthed off of that album alone, ”

        thats not a good thing…

      3. Hahhahahah fucking idiot thinking 808s gave birth to Drake, shut the fuck up. Kanye West didn’t invent rapping over R&B beats. Shit was happening for years. FUcking rap faggots just started thinking “ooooooh, rapping over R&B beats is cool now!”

      4. Subjective. Diversification was, at the time, a good thing for rap, and still is. The more we can broaden the popular sound, the more creativity. Or do you just want to keep listening to what labels think you should listen too?

      5. @GreatTrack,

I agree on most of your points outside Kanye has 5 classics. I only really consider College Dropout, MDBTF and 808s to be classics. His other albums including Yeezus are very good but not perfect.

    6. For T-Pain to even compare an album so immaturely titled as Rappa Ternt Sanga to anything the modern-genius-masterpiece-inventor-Jesus? Kanye West has birthed from his creative loins is blasphemy.

      1. That was Roger Troutman from Zapp. What he used was a Talk Box. The main difference was Roger could actually sing.

    7. I am confused as to why T-Pain even brought this up in the first place and absolutely don’t believe the T-Pain record as anywhere near 808s and I didn’t think 808s was a classic by any means.

    8. FUCK U AND YOUR APPLE BOTTOM JEANS @J . nobody gives a fuck bout T-pains , Future is tha future he joined tha teaM now anything he wants he gets…

AND Kanye last 3 albums went platinum with all lead singles being top hits

What tha fuck has T-pains been doing tha last 3 years???
Listining to future on tha radio and getting diss at tha same damn time …

BRING IT ON IF U THINK U CAN HANG..BUT IF NOT LET ME DO MY THANG

      1. I just started 6 weeks ago and I’ve gotten 2 check for a total of $2,200…this is the best decision I made in a long time! “Thank you for giving me this extraordinary opportunity to make extra money from home. This extra cash has changed my life in so many ways, thank you!”

    9. You are not the originator of Auto-tune you idiot. Roger started that sh*t years before you were probably even born!

    10. t-pain tryin to stay relevant w/o an album or label money to make an album.

808s is deep. R ternt S is shallow.

      end of story.

    11. T-Pain deserves his credit. He put out 2 albums with extensive autotune use before 808 & Heartbreak. If the use of autotune in 808 was so influential, How come Yez got none of the hate from the autotune backlash? Too many kids on here drinking Kanye’s genital Kool-Aid.
