Penalty Recordings, a label that released albums from such acts as Noreaga (now known as N.O.R.E. and NORE), Crooked Lettaz (one-half of which was David Banner), the Beatnuts and Lord Finesse, has relaunched as Penalty Entertainment, billboard.com reports.
Penalty Entertainment has signed a multi-year distribution deal through Sony RED and has already signed rapper Hi-Rez and Rap group eMC (Masta Ace, Punchline, Wordsworth and Strick).
“Penalty 2.0 joins with a new roster that showcases the quality and consistency of the original,” Sony RED president Bob Morelli said in a statement announcing the new partnership. “There is no doubt about Penalty’s plans to recapture the original excitement and Neil’s ability to deliver it.”
Penalty Entertainment has recorded music, artist/producer management, music publishing, touring and merchandising divisions, billboard.com’s story says.
