The 86th annual Academy Awards nominations were announced today (January 16). Pharrell, Karen O, Spike Jonze and Bono were among the musicians nominated for music-based awards for the event.

Pharrell’s “Happy” earned a nomination for Best Original Song due to its placement on Despicable Me 2’s original soundtrack.
