French Montana has announced that he is working on a new album, Mac & Cheese 4, and that he is a potential collaborator on an upcoming Kanye West project.

“We’re supposed to be working on a couple of songs together for his album,” Montana says of West in a Rolling Stone interview. “He got a special project coming out.”

Montana is also focusing on his own upcoming album, Mac & Cheese 4

“I’m going back to the essence on this album,” Montana says. “We’re giving the fans that grew up on me what they want. When we made the other music, it was just to be a little different and not do the same thing over.”

The album’s first single is slated to be released in the coming months.

In the Rolling Stone interview, Montana also says he has locked in a collaboration with Macklemore and Rick Ross.

In January 2012, Montana spoke about Kanye West trying to sign him to G.O.O.D. Music before Diddy signed him to Bad Boy.

“He was trying to sign me,” Montana said. “Every label was trying to sign me before I got with Puff. So that goes to tell you that I was really comfortable with what he had on the table for me.”
