Vin Rock solidified his status in Hip Hop history with platinum and gold plaques as a member of Naughty By Nature. Now he’s hoping to leave a mark on Battle Rap as a consultant for UW Battle League.
Recently, Vin Rock spoke with HipHopDX about how he became involved with this endeavor. “I got involved when two of the owners, D Rock and Deuja, reached out to me to help further monetize their business,” Vin Rock said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “Deuja has been family for a longtime. I’m honored the guys thought to affiliate me with the UW family. My title is consultant. I always say I don’t want to get in the way of what these guys built. They are awesome.”
Vin Rock Says UW Battle League’s Goal Is To Become A Network
Vin Rock makes it clear that he is merely present to help UW build on what it has already established as a company.

“This is a collective vision,” he says. “This is someone else’s baby. I’m uncle Vin Rock. I’m here to help nurture it and watch it grow. The plan is to evolve into a paid subscription-based channel. Besides live pay-per-view events, UW is developing original content relevant to the Rap Battle culture so fans can get a more intimate look at their favorite battle artists. With the fans’ support, the channel will remain self-contained as far as production and basically evolve into a network.”
UW Battle League’s upcoming “High Stakes” event is slated to take place January 26 in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The event, set to be held at Envy Night Club, is scheduled to feature Loaded Lux versus Hollow Da Don, Tsu Surf versus Calicoe, Hitman Holla versus O-Red, and Daylyt versus B Magic.
