Ice Cube Regrets Not Working More With Dr. Dre

Ice Cube is one of the most accomplished rappers and actors of the past 30 years, but he has a noteworthy regret.

“Not being able to work with Dr. Dre as much on music,” Ice Cube said yesterday (December 4) during an “Ask Me Anything on Reddit, according to xxlmag.com

Ice Cube participated in the AMA session with Kevin Hart to promote their forthcoming Ride Along film, which is slated to arrive in theaters January 17.

The South Central Los Angeles rapper also provided an update on the next installment of his series of Friday movies. “The next Friday movie is caught up in development hell at New Line Cinema,” he said. “Pray that we get it outta there.”

Last week, Ice Cube announced that his Everythangs Corrupt album would be released in May. The former N.W.A member was asked what his favorite Hip Hop album of all time was. He said it was Public Enemy’s It Takes a Nation A Millions To Hold Us Back.

Ice Cube also said that his mother helped him realize he was a celebrity. “When my mom asked for an autograph for her friends, I knew I was famous,” Ice Cube said. “Still feels good.”

        Right there?

    1. Man, that Helter Skelter album Dre and Cube had planned many years ago would have been fire. If Dre set his mind to it, there are so many hot projects we could have heard like NWA’s reunion, Rakim, Raekwon and many more

    2. Natural born killaz is still my joint! Checkout thegrandreport, they got some good hip hop and viral videos on there

    3. Chuck D. (Public Enemy) is your favorite rapper’s favorite rapper.

Ice Cube is also one of the GOAT’s… he put out 4 classic solo albums from 1990-1993. Still drops some gems every once and awhile…

    4. my co-worker’s aunt makes $61 every hour on the computer. She has been laid off for 6 months but last month her check was $21227 just working on the computer for a few hours. original site,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, x.co/3Yjcc

    5. Why regret? Dre uses ghostproducers? You regret goin to Hollywood and making movies for the dumb and retarded

      1. Right dude.. dont get me wrong the chronic is in my top 3 of all time and 2001 in top 15 probably… but in all honesty fuck dr. dre.. like Pac said in 1996 he aint neva putting out music, he takes to damn long… i honestly believe dre is a hack… Daz/J.Flexx/Chris the Glove Taylor.. + 10 other guys are the ones who produced half the shit on death row.. NOT doc dre, although he takes credit for it.. scott stroch produced 2001 pretty much.. i am extremely dissappointed by dre.

      2. @bryguy Do you even know what a real producer does? A real producer does not make beats. Some do but answer this. Do you think Quincy Jones made beats for MJ Thriller? A real producer is someone who gets the right songs for artists and makes sure the songs sound as good as they can. Timbo, Kanye, Mike Will etc all have beat makers under them helping them get their vision out there. Dr Dre is a real producer and yes he does have other people who may make a beat or add to his own beat but he is the coach. Scott Storch and Mel Man were musicians on 2001. They did not produce. There is a big difference. It is always funny when people act like they know about music but really have no knowledge what so ever. If you doubt Dre’s skills listen to Snoop Dogg’s “It ain’t no fun” demo. Then listen to it after Dre produced it.

      3. @Facts4slowppl: Finally! Someone who also understands what a real producer does. A lot of people dissing Dre for not making beats, etc….Take note of all great producers in history of music (regardless of genre), they weren’t required / expected to make the music themselves….

      4. In hip-hop, the producer makes beats…that’s what it is and always has been..in other genres, you can “produce” and not do anything…

    6. public enemy is epic. I still haven’t heard all their shit, but from fear of a black planet, it should be required listening.

      1. It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold us Back was their 2nd album and right before their 3rd album: Fear of a Black Planet. Those 2 plus their 4th album: Apocalypse ’91- The Enemy Strikes Black all should be required listening for true hip-hop heads. All classics.

        Other notable albums:
Their first: Yo! Bum Rush the Show
        Greatest Misses
and Muse Sick N Hour Mess Age

    7. Cube need to get that Last Friday out. The first one was a mothafuckin classic. Niggas in my hood still have that shit on rotation. And him and Dre shoulda made more music they shit was hot.

      Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      1. Khalid was a terrorist u moron, one who actively advocated violence. There’s a reason why he’s forgotten while Mandela is celebrated.

    8. Ummm…yeah that was a wack read and a wasted click. Anyway…easily one of the GOAT’s. Amerikkka’s will go down as one of the most important albums in hip hop history
