Beyonce continues to top the Billboard Top 200 chart with her self-titled album, Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 jumps back into the Top 3 and Drake’s Nothing Was The Same improves to #16 from last week’s #20 placement.
Beyonce’s Self-Titled Album Continues Reign At #1
Beyonce’s self-titled album continues to top the charts. This week, the album sold 310,270 units and the project has moved 1,301,392 units overall. This week, Beyonce also released a new installment of her art feature, which has been an on-going YouTube video series. Her latest clip, “Liberation,” features Beyonce speaking about sensuality, sexuality and her body. “I was very aware of the fact that I was showing my body,” Beyonce says in the clip, speaking about the music videos for the project. “I was 195 pounds when I gave birth. I lost 65 pounds. I worked crazily to get my body back. I wanted to show my body. I wanted to show that you can have a child and you can work hard and you can get your body back. I know finding my sensuality, getting back into my body and being proud of growing up, it was important to me to express that in this music, because I know there are so many women that feel the same thing after they give birth.”

Eminem’s MMLP2 Lands At #3
Eminem’s most recent release, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, landed in the #3 spot this week. The album sold 122,092 units this week, a figure that helps the project’s overall sales total reach 1,726,763 copies sold. This was an improvement from last week’s #6 ranking for Eminem’s album. Moreover, the week proved successful for Eminem on other fronts as well. Three other Eminem albums also made the Top 200 Billboard chart. Eminem’s Recovery landed at #93, selling more than 10,000 units this week. The Eminem Show landed in the #124 slot, selling more than 8,000 units this week and The Marshall Mathers LP sold more than 7,800 units to land in the #129 spot.
Drake’s Nothing Was The Same Remains In Top 20
Drake’s Nothing Was The Same landed in the #16 spot this week. This was an improvement from last week for Drake, when the Toronto-based rapper earned a #20 showing. This week, Nothing Was The Same sold 48,528 copies. In total, Drake’s most recent release has tallied 1,344,484 units sold. Recently, Drake spoke about his lyrics. “I feel like the music that I write is utilized in life,” Drake said in an interview with Vibe. “It would be tough for me to go in conceptual storytelling. The last great concept album was [Kendrick Lamar’s] good kid, m.A.A.d city—still obviously true to his life but very conceptual. Very specific stories that need to be told. I always say hats off to that album. That album’s incredible, what an undertaking. For me, I would never want to be restricted to that.”
