It’s been more than four years since Atlanta wordsmith 2 Chainz released an album with fellow Playaz Circle member Dolla Boy, and according to the rapper formerly known as Tity Boi, a new Playaz Circle album or mixtape is a possibility.
2 Chainz shared the news during an interview on the Rickey Smiley Morning Show and also revealed that he was just in the studio with Dolla Boy. While the rapper didn’t reveal any specific details about a possible Playaz Circle project, he did inform listeners that there is a record, which features both himself and Dolla Boy, that he’s hoping to use in the near future.
“Yeah, I was with Dolla at the studio last night,” 2 Chainz said. “So, you know, we never stop working. You never know what can happen. I’m definitely going to be working on this T.R.U. imprint. Me and him got this dope record that I want to use for it. So, I don’t know if I’m gonna do a mixtape. I don’t know what I’m gonna do next, but definitely be looking out for something.”

Formed in the late ’90s, Playa Circle released two studio albums, Supply & Demand and Flight 360: The Takeoff, via Disturbing Tha Peace and Def Jam Records.
During an interview with Hot 97 personality Funkmaster Flex last year, 2 Chainz detailed the origins of Playaz Circle. According to 2 Chainz, the duo was created after he appeared on a LP also titled Playaz Circle.
“[Playaz Circle] was originally like a compilation [in] the late ’90s…it was my first time recording, my first song ever recorded was on this compilation,” he said. “At this point in time, it was really a group, it was like maybe five or six emcees that put in their little trap money to put together a CD…[we were] trying to sell it out the trunk, the whole Master P-thing. Off that, I kinda got feedback…people were saying I was dope, and it was my first time ever recording, so it kinda gave me confidence to pursue it a little bit.”
