After last week’s charting premiere of Eminem’s “Rap God” single from the now streamingMarshall Mathers LP 2, this week the list finds Eminem holding down four of the top five spots with features from Kendrick Lamar, Rihanna, and Skylar Grey besides his solo outing on “Rap God.” The third spot is taken by Papoose’s use of Em’s single in preparation of his upcoming mixtape “Hoodie Season” while Brotha Lynch Hung’s HipHopDX premiered Halloween single arrives at number six. Kendrick Lamar pulls another feature appearance on Fredro Santana’s “Jealous.” The rest of the list is rounded out by music from Snoop Dogg, Action Bronson’s latest mixtape, and a James Blake remix of Drake’s “Come Thru.”
Kendrick Lamar Features On Eminem’s “Love Game”
For a second week in a row a Rick Rubin produced MMLP2 number tops the list with Kendrick Lamar’s feature on “Love Game.” The song, sequenced late in the album as track number 14, is built on a Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders sample and finds both rappers mixing in a fair bit of dark humor in their verses. “Used to be my fiancee,” Eminem raps. “Until you sucked on Wayne, Andre, and Kanye / LeBron, Akon, Jay / Lil Jon, Raekwon, Ma$e / Polow Da Don, Dre, Dante Ross, James Conway, Kwame.”
Kendrick offers up the second verse and the song’s chorus. “Why you ain’t fuckin’ with me,” he raps, “you cut me up—a Caesarean / You know I want you bad as a Benjamin, I’m delirious / I want you bad as the head shattered on George Zimmerman / After the Dillinger hit’em diligently and killin’ him / His mouthpiece for a Cadillac emblem / That’s analogy and metaphor for you.”

Rihanna And Skylar Grey Sing On “MMLP2” Tracks “The Monster” And “Asshole”
Rihanna and Skylar Grey represent two of the four guest appearances on Eminem’s latest album (only one of which doesn’t appear on this week’s top 10 list) with their lending a hand on “The Monster” and “Asshole” respectively.
On “Asshole” Eminem slyly references his past beef with the Insane Clown Posse after a more direct jab at Asher Roth in the second verse. “Quit acting salty / I was counting on you to count me out as Asher Roth / When he roundabout dissed me to shout me out / Thought I was history / But, goddamn, honkey, that compliment’s like backhanding a donkey / Good way to get your ass socked in the mouth (Lay’em off it) / But what the fuck is all this trash talking about.”
Rihanna gives an assist on the anthemic single “The Monster” as a followup to her previous collaboration with Eminem on the hit song “Love The Way You Lie.” “The Monster,” which is produced by Frequency, finds Em opening up on his own insecurities and character flaws. “I wanted the fame but not the cover of Newsweek,” he raps, “Oh well, guess beggars can’t be choosey / Wanted to receive attention for my music / Wanted to be left alone in public, excuse me.”

Papoose Co-opts Eminem’s “Rap God” Ahead Of “Hoodie Season”
Helping to keep the top five songs of the week MMLP2 related, Papoose’s remix of “Rap God” clocks in as the third most popular on the list. Papoose released his long-in-the-making studio debut album earlier this year with The Nacirema Dream after being announced years ago. Since his album, Pap has made headlines with an unexpected appearance at Summer Jam as well his response to Kendrick Lamar’s “Control” verse (it was Lamar that Papoose performed after at the concert as well). Now more than a month into fall, Papoose is prepping another mixtape titled “Hoodie Season” and uses the DVLP produced Eminem smash as a backdrop to his latest anticipatory freestyle.
Brotha Lynch Hung Gives Fans A Soundtrack For Halloween
With a late-week Halloween this year, characteristically horror-fueled emcee Brotha Lynch Hung dropped off a HipHopDX premiered soundtrack for Halloween night. “On Halloween Night” features Brotha Lynch Hung’s familiar acrobatic flow and aggressive violence on an eerie production.
