Rapsody's "She Got Game" Among Pepsi.com's "Mixtapes of the Month"

Pepsi.com recently released its list of “Mixtapes of the Month: October 2013.” This list is compiled by DJBooth.net as part of its new “Mixtapes of the Month” series. In the series, they narrow down mixtape releases from the past 30 days or so to three projects to showcase for the month. In this month’s edition, Rapsody’s “She Got Game” is featured among the three mixtapes selected.

Rapsody is a female emcee who has proven herself among such established artists as Ab-Soul, Chance the Rapper, Raekwon and Phonte.

“Hip-hop is a male-dominated industry,” Pepsi says of the emcee. “While there are plenty of talented women holding a mic, they often don’t get the same respect as their male counterparts. Sure, with a title like She Got Game, she even acknowledges it, but don’t put her in a box based on her gender; dope lyricism and an educated, quality-oriented style is universal.”
