Nelly is set to appear in a BET Hip Hop Awards cypher, which is also slated to include his fellow cast members from BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood” program.

Nelly was originally skeptical about appearing in the cypher, which airs on BET October 15.

“When they brought us the idea and they said it,” Nelly says in a clip published via allhiphop.com, “I think, from a sense of, well, ‘What are we doing herre?’ I’m probably the only one on there that does music. So it was a little iffy.”

His worries were eased after consulting with his colleagues who appear on the program, including Nick Cannon, Kevin Hart and JB Smoove. 

“But after talking to everybody, it was like, ‘Okay, how we gon’ play it?'” Nelly said. “Once we was like, ‘Yo, we just gon’ have some fun.’ I was like, ‘Alright, cool. Dope.'”

Snoop Dogg hosted the BET Hip Hop Awards, which were filmed September 28. Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, Jay Rock, ScHoolboy Q and DJ Khaled performed at the event, which is set to air on BET October 15.
