Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth have announced the itinerary of their forthcoming “20th Anniversary Mecca And The Soul Brother Tour.” Camp Lo is scheduled to be the opening act for the tour, which is slated to begin October 15 at the Howard Theater in Washington, D.C. and conclude November 15 at Middle East in Boston, Massachusetts.
The tour is named after the New York duo’s debut album, 1992’s Mecca And The Soul Brother, and will be the first time the pair has toured North America in more than 15 years.
“It means a lot because music is the foundation of the world,” C.L. Smooth said in a press release. “It gives you an opportunity to know what we contributed and how inspired we were as very young men to get the opportunity to make good music.”
“People will finally get to hear good music and see a good show,” Pete Rock added. “They get to come out, have a good time and enjoy the music they loved for years.”

Mecca And The Soul Brother included “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.),” which was named one of “The 50 Greatest Hip-Hop Songs Of All Time” by Rolling Stone magazine. The album also featured the singles “Straighten It Out” and “Lots Of Lovin.”
Pete Rock has collaborated with Camp Lo on two 80 Blocks From Tiffany’s mixtapes. Pt. II of the series was released in August.
