Future Denies Saying Drake’s Music Doesn’t Grab Listeners

Shortly following today’s release of a Billboard.com story on Atlanta-based artist Future, the singer/rapper who’s currently set to tour alongside Drake on his “Would You Like A Tour?” tour, has spoken out against one quote in particular, one that details his thoughts on Drake and his newly-released album, Nothing Was The Same.

In Billboard’s story, Future was quoted as saying, “Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do. I want to make you want to fall in love.”

Following the release of Billboard’s story, Future later announced to his Twitter followers that he was “misquoted.” The quote made in regards to Drake has since been deleted from the story.

While speaking with Billboard, Future also indirectly made reference to this year’s numerous rap album releases as he commented on having music better than all the rappers who have released projects this year.

“I’ve been on the songs of all these rappers that put out an album, and my music is still better,” said Future.

Released on September 24, Nothing Was The Same sold more than 650,000 copies in its first week. Although Future does not appear on Drake’s third solo album, he has been featured on a number or records with the Canadian singer/rapper, including Lil Wayne’s “Love Me” and the Mike WiLL-produced “Fo Real.”

At this time, it’s unclear if Future’s upcoming LP, Honest, will join the growing list of rap releases to hit the shelves this year. In a past interview with Rap-Up.com, Future rattled off the list of collaborators for his upcoming LP (formerly titled Future Hendrix). Among those artists were Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West. He also discussed his relationship with Drake.

“Me and Drake got great music coming out,” Future said during his interview with Rap-Up.com. “[With] the chemistry that we have we just feed off each other. We’ll come up with it by the second. We come up with hits easy. We ain’t been around each other that many times. We probably been in the studio three, four times but every time we go in the studio we come out with magic, easy.”
