Meek Mill, who recently released his Kendrick Lamar diss track, “Ooh Kill Em,” says he doesn’t have a personal beef with Kendrick Lamar. The rapper also says that he told Kendrick Lamar that he had a response to his verse on “Control” that was going to be released.
“Yeah, I know Kendrick,” Meek Mill said in an interview with DJ Whookid. “He’s a cool guy. I seen him the other day. I seen him at Hov’s party. I said, ‘You know I’m loading up to fire back.’ He’s a cool guy, man.”
When asked if there was any beef between the two because of “Control,” Meek clarified his position.
“Nah, hell nah,” Meek said. “I like that shit. I ain’t mad at it. If you mad at it, then you must just be a soft dude.”
And while he also recently released another track, “Kendrick You Next,” a song dissing Cassidy, Meek Mill explained how he feels about being called a battle rapper.
“I ain’t no battle rapper,” Mill said. “I just battled [in the past] because that’s what they was on at the time. But that’s what we do. That’s fun to us. When I come at people, I come at them, so it just be like crazy.”
Lamar first mentioned Meek Mill on his verse from Big Sean’s “Control.”
“I’m usually homeboys with the same niggas I’m rhymin’ with,” Kendrick Lamar says on the song. “But this is Hip Hop and them niggas should know what time it is. That goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale, Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electron[ica], Tyler[, the Creator], Mac Miller. I got love for you all but I’m tryin’ to murder you niggas. Trying to make sure your core fans never heard of you niggas [and that] they don’t want to hear not one more noun or verb from you niggas. What is competition? I’m trying to raise the bar high.”
Soon after this, Meek Mill addressed the track with a statement.
“I’m in a lane by myself,” Mill said at the time. “I’m the only [one] that’s lyrically spittin’ some street music and gettin’ money. Kendrick [Lamar and Black Hippy], I’ma tell ’em in a rap: y’all can run that backpack, I’ma run these streets…We gonna have fun with it; get money. Hip Hop needed that.”

These guys are TOO cordial…. Initially Jay/Nas weren’t. Kane and Rakim weren’t, KRS and MC Shan weren’t.
How you tell ’em about your diss record?
Jordan refused to acknowledge Thomas’ presence in a hotel elevator during 1985 All star weekend and they were teammates for East All Star team.
It’s about money these days, not hatred and beef.
And that’s why these rappers now are soft and weak.
They might as well be about beef, there was more money and a stronger dollar then. So they still soft and weak, that was a bad excuse, the struggle is realer than the glamour now.
weak from meek
FUCKING CORNEY!!!!!!
If this guy is one of the best then hip-hop is dead.

1995 every didn’t need to be friends. 2013 everyone is friends. Also, Meek is a horrible battle rapper and all his disses are trash. I also think that Meek is just a mixtape rapper just like French Montana. Both trash
this is why i cant stand “beefing” these days. back in the day when you dissed someone it was cause you genuinely had beef with that rapper. nowadays its just for attention and to promote your album. its pathetic, for example, a few weeks back Joe Budden disses Kendrick lamar but also tweets him “you my nigga for life bro” HOW THE FUCK ARE YOU GUNNA DISS SOMEONE BUT CALL THEM YOUR NIGGA FOR LIFE? if your gunna diss someone dont be a bitch about it. and this is coming from a Budden fan.
