Contrary to a tweet sent out by BET executive Stephen Hill Saturday (August 3), Andre 3000 does not have a solo album coming out in the next few months. “Regarding reports of a specific plan to release an album in early 2014,” Andre 3000’s rep says to Billboard.com, “there is no official confirmation on that report.”

Sent Saturday, Hill’s tweet reportedly came from a conversation the BET executive had with the OutKast rapper at an event recently.

Even though he has appeared on several songs with such artists as T.I. and Rick Ross since OutKast’s last release, the soundtrack for the 2006 film Idlewild, Andre 3000 has not released a solo album.

In May, the Atlanta rapper’s mother, Sharon Benjamin-Hodo, passed away. In June, Cee Lo told HipHopDX in an exclusive interview that he hoped Andre 3000 would channel his mourning into music. “I’m hoping this really makes him angry enough to be artful again,” Cee Lo said. “That’s what I want for him.”
