Sherlita M. Patton, the wife of Big Boi, filed for divorce yesterday (October 2), according to court documents obtained by accessatlanta.com.
Big Boi, whose given name is Antwon A. Patton, and Sherlita were married in February 2002, as per accessatlanta.com.
The pair is separated, according to the court documents cited by accessatlanta.com.

The divorce complaint was filed in Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia and says that the marriage is broken, the story says.
Sherlita’s filing says that she is seeking alimony and an equitable division of marital property and attorney’s fees, as per accessatlanta.com.
The Pattons have two children. Sherlita is seeking sole custody of the pair’s 12-year-old and the corresponding child support. Their other child is 18.

Sherlita is also seeking spousal support, TMZ.com says.
As one-half of OutKast, Big Boi released six studio albums. The Atlanta-based duo, which also features Andre 3000, has been nominated for 16 Grammy Awards and has won six.
