Drake’s OVO will be an official sponsor for King of the Dot’s fourth annual installment of the World Domination Battle Rap event series. Drake announced this news recently, confirming and reaffirming his support for the Toronto-based Battle Rap league.

This is not the first time Drake has given support to the KOTD organization. In the past, Drake has co-hosted battles and has spoken about the support he has for Battle Rap in interviews. His presence was seen at Dizaster’s battle versus DNA and later at Dizaster’s title matchup versus Arcane. Dizaster has also spoken about his close ties with Drake

The OVO/KOTD announcement was made via Twitter.

King of the Dot later confirmed this tweet with their own.

As mentioned, this is the fourth annual World Domination event. It features battlers from across the world, each representing their country while battling in English. The matches, including Pat Stay versus Arcane, Charlie Clips versus Hollohan, Daylyt versus Loe Pesci and Charron versus Shotgun Suge, can be seen below in the promo videos that have been released thus far.

More recently, Drake spoke about his appreciation for Battle Rap when Tsu Surf’s battle with Hollow Da Don was released by SMACK/URL. Drake took Hollow’s side in the battle, arguing with Kevin Durant that Tsu Surf took a loss to Da Don

In the past, KOTD’s Organik has spoken with HipHopDX about Drake’s support.

“Drake is a huge supporter of KOTD and the battle movement as a whole. It’s an honor to have someone in his position reach and show as much support as he does. He’s a very humble dude who really puts on for Toronto.”

In that interview, Organik also explained the goal of World Domination.
