Jay-Z has announced a European headlining tour in support of his Magna Carta Holy Grail album, according to hiphop-n-more.com. The “Magna Carta” tour is slated to begin October 3 at the Manchester Arena in the Manchester, UK and conclude October 29 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands, as per the site.
Jay-Z also notched his first #1 album in the UK with Magna Carta Holy Grail today (July 15), according to hiphop-n-more.com.
During a recent interview with BBC Radio 1, Jay-Z said that he and Kanye West argued about on which album the songs “Oceans” and “Holy Grail” would appear. “[There were] no lyrics on ‘Holy Grail’ and I recorded ‘Oceans’ and I played those records for Kanye,” Jay-Z says. “And he was like, ‘No those have to go on Watch the Throne,’ so we spent four days arguing about those records and I was explaining to him why it wasn’t right for this project and I had a whole idea for making this album called Magna Carta…[the] Holy Grail [part of] the name came after.”
Both “Oceans” and “Holy Grail” ended up on Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail album.
