With the release of two studio albums and a stint as celebrity judge on “American Idol,” Queens rapstress Nicki Minaj has made her presence known in both the music and television world. And with the upcoming release of the Cameron Diaz-led The Other Woman, Minaj will soon tackle the film world thanks to her role as legal assistant in the Nick Cassavetes-directed movie.

While speaking with Marie Claire, a magazine in which Minaj will serve as the August cover artist, the Pink Friday rapper shared her nervousness about her first big acting gig with fans as she answered their Twitter questions during her interview.

“I was like, ‘Why does this guy believe in me?’ He goes, ‘I’ve been watching you on Idol, and you’re great.’ Made me seem more relatable to the everyday person. It’s cracked that shell for my image,” said Minaj. “I’ve become something bigger than Nicki Minaj…I would be lying if I said I was not nervous. I can’t blow this.”

Minaj later circled back to her music and revealed that her music career could possibly be fully replaced with an acting career once she releases a few more albums.

“I at least want to do three more albums. If I can do that, I’ll feel complete,” she explained. “One day, when I start getting a couple gray hairs, maybe it will all be only acting. I just never know. I’ve kind of become the poster child for doing the things that no one expects.”

The August issue of Marie Claire, which will feature Nicki Minaj’s full interview, will hit newsstands on July 16. The cover of the August issue can be found below.
