MGK Signs Cleveland Rapper Ray, Jr. To EST 19XX Label

    Bad Boy Worldwide artist MGK (f/k/a Machine Gun Kelly) is preparing his Black Flag mixtape. The same week, MGK announced that he has added a fellow Cleveland, Ohio artist to his own fledgling EST. 19XX imprint. Ray Jr. (f/k/a Young Ray), who Kelly has previously collaborated with, is among the label’s first artists.

    “I’ve been a fan of Ray [Jr.] since I was in high school,” said MGK. “The streets fuck with him whether he’s making music or not and That type of power is undeniable. This m’fucka hasn’t went one year without giving Cleveland a banger that you hear in every club in the city, now it’s time for the rest of the world to hear.”

    Ray has worked with Big Sean and 2 Chainz, in addition to his Lace Up appearance. Last February, Ray Jr. was reported by XXLMag.com to have signed to Def Jam Records.

    1. this is getting ridiculous! does every rapper really need a label? you got french montana signing niggas before he sold 1 album then his shit comes out and he had the biggest flop of the year! i know mgk didnt do much better but he aint have half the promo or features

      1. Their albums were not flops. Theirs were only their debut albums. Not everyone gonna sell over 200k opening week.

      2. french was most def a flop! he even said he needed to sell 200k first week. all that marketing money, big name features and co-signs a flop is a flop you a fool to sign to him when hes signed to 3 niccas

      3. Hes not the first aritst to miss their own prediction. Plus, you need time to get to know the artist. 50k copies isn’t a flop.
