The Adult Swim network, along with Williams Street and Cartoon Network, has a longtime affiliation with Hip Hop. Last year, Adult Swim’s Williams Street record label was responsible for the critically-acclaimed, Top 100 R.A.P. Music album by Killer Mike. This was not Williams’ first forray with Dungeon Family, having also released Witchdoctor’s The Diary Of An American Witchdoctor five years earlier. The imprint has partnered with Definitive Jux and Chocolate Industries on compilations in the past as well.

This week, Adult Swim announced their 2013 single series. The television timeshare partnered with an array of Hip Hop artists, as well as acts in other genres for a 15-part installment that will include music, and in some cases, video.

Beginning with Killer Mike & El-P’s “Run The Jewels” song (also the name of their new group), Adult Swim will also commission singles by Lil B, Captain Murphy featuring MF DOOM (as Viktor Vaughan), and Freddie Gibbs & Madlib.
