The week in Hip Hop was full of criticisms, as Kendrick Lamar took molly (and the rappers who parrot its use) to task. It didn’t stop there, with Earl Sweatshirt making light of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “Can’t Hold Us.” Finally, things took a major turn for the bizarre, as Rihanna and former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes got into Twitter beef.
Kendrick Lamar Says, “It’s Time To Move On” From Molly Lyrics
Kendrick Lamar has made it a point to not follow trends, even as his stature has grown in the national spotlight. So it’s not surprising that the West Coast emcee would be the one to speak out about references to molly, the current drug of choice by rappers (both in use and lyrics).
“Sometimes you have the trends that’s not that cool,” said the Compton, California native. “You may have certain artists portraying these trends and don’t really have that lifestyle, and then it gives off the wrong thing. And it becomes kinda corny after a while.”

Bynes, who has been making headlines because of various legal issues and a reported drug problem, has also been quite controversial with her Twitter use, posting topless photos of herself and making other outlandish comments.
Rihanna responded, referencing Bynes’ issues without naming her:
Rihanna and on-again, off-again boyfriend Chris Brown broke up in early May, bringing to a close (for now) a tumultuous relationship that included a 2009 assault of Rihanna by Brown.
