Last week, Houston rapper/producer Travi$ Scott released his much-anticipated Owl Pharaoh EP and according to the Grand Hustle emcee, he had the help of Kanye West when it came to crafting the beats on his debut EP.

As part of an A Day In The Life story with XXL magazine, which took place on the day of his EP’s release, Travi$ Scott spoke on Kanye’s contributions to the project and revealed that the Yeezus rapper was “super excited” for the release of Owl Pharaoh.

“I was on the phone with [Kanye] this morning, he’s super excited about the project,” said Scott. “He helped me create it. Me and ’Ye did some of the beats on this shit. We had a good time working on it.”

The Houston spitter later spoke on the influence his city has on his music and was quick to name fellow rapper Z-Ro as an artist who has had quite the impact on his music. Z-Ro was also one artist Travi$ Scott was hoping to recruit for Owl Pharaoh, but was unable to.

“Z-Ro’s a legend bro. I respect that man. You hear the darkness inside my music, and it’s on some Z-Ro shit. I wanted him on this shit so bad, it’s just that he’s so real,” the “Quintana” rapper revealed.

Travi$ Scott’s Owl Pharaoh EP was released on May 21 and features guest appearances from A$AP Ferg, Meek Mill, Wale, and more.
