Following a stage jump attempt that didn’t quite work out for California crooner Miguel at Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, many were left wondering what exactly went wrong.

While speaking directly with Billboard following the incident, Miguel, who was joined by the fan who was slightly injured due to the attempt, revealed that the jump was brought on due to the heavy engagement in his performance. The singer also credited the jump as being one of his “less favorable moments.”

“The crazy thing is that when you’re performing and you’re just kind of into it, you never really know how it’s gonna go and where you’re gonna go with it, and how that might turn out. So, this is kind of one of the less favorable moments,” said Miguel in a video posted on HotNewHipHop.com.

Despite holding an ice pack throughout the interview, Khyati, the woman Miguel partially landed on during his jump, appeared to be visibly okay.

During his conversation with Billboard, Miguel also revealed plans to continue with his Art Dealer Chic series of EP’s. Fans can expect to be hit with three new EP’s from the series this summer.

Art Dealer Chic, we put out a few EP’s last year. Three of them, and we’ll do three more this summer,” Miguel shared. “So, for those of you watching, pay attention to the internet. It’ll be free and I hope you enjoy them.”
