After two years, Nick Cannon is pulling the plug on his Top 40 radio show, Cannon’s Countdown. The CBS Radio-backed, nationally-syndicated radio show has been on the air since April, 2011.

“I am extremely grateful to have had a broadcast home with CBS Radio,” said the rapper-turned-actor in a press statement. “It has been an amazing experience working with the team these past few years,” says Nick Cannon. “I’ve made the difficult decision to step away from my on air duties in radio in order to have the time to dedicate to NCredible Entertainment and the various projects that I have on my plate in film, TV, retail and a new album. It is my plan to return to radio and my listeners very soon through my music.”

The show ran in both a three-hour and four-hour format. Cannon’s last broadcast will air on June 8. According to Cannon’s spokesperson, he will revive his popular MTV show, “Wild N’ Out” beginning July 9 on MTV2. The show originally ran on the parent network from 2005 to 2007. He will remain host of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent,” which premieres its fifth season next month.

Cannon, who is also a comedian, has released both Comedy and Hip Hop/Rap albums in his extensive career.
