Mike Stud is the latest emcee to challenge the traditional record industry model; the breakout recording artists currently has the #1 Hip Hop album in the country and it’s sitting right above heavy hitters like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Eve, Lil Wayne and more. His LP, Relief, also debuted #2 on the iTunes overall albums chart. Relief has 12 tracks with production by Brian Lee (Carly Rae Jepsen, Lady Gaga) and Luke Walker (Sugar Ray, Korn).
Relief chronicles Stud’s journey from his years as an All American pitcher at Duke, to his side-lining and ultimate career ending injury, his rise as a rapper and the everyday struggles that one faces during the come up.
“I’m really excited to share Relief with everyone. This album is my best piece of work thus far, and I truly believe it will be a huge stepping stone for me,” said Stud in a press statement. “I’m an artist that’s going to be around for a while and I think Relief will prove that point,”
