With South By Southwest taking place last week, there were an abundance of releases and announcements were slim. As artists were performing, networking and partying, expect a plethora of new tapes—some even made in Austin, Texas hotel rooms, to mobile studios and more.

Cassie, who was not in SXSW, was one of the few to announce a project in the last seven days. Her #RockaByeBaby freebie will be released on April 11. Moreover, Ryan Lynch, founder and CEO of Virginia-based Man Bites Dog Records confirmed to HipHopDX two acts on his roster are poised to drop tapes very soon. New Jersey emcee Eddie B is teaming up with longtime musical partner Harry Fraud to release Horsepower. The SRFSCHL artists have an album planned for Spring, Paper, Piff & Polo. Another MBDR act, Hayze, will soon release Smoker’s Section. The Connecticut emcee is being mentored by one of the state’s most successful acts, Apathy—who will help produce and guest appear on the project.
