Rick Ross Escapes Assassination Attempt, 50 Cent & “Freeway” Ricky Ross Respond

Rick Ross had a brush with death this week. Early in the morning of his 37th birthday, the Teflon Don was driving through Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a female passenger when a car pulled up next to his vehicle, firing more than a dozen rounds in his direction. The rapper tried to escape the gunfire, losing control of his Rolls Royce and crashing it into a building. Shortly after news broke, his foe 50 Cent took to Twitter to state that the incident was “staged,” posting a picture of the car and noting that it had no bullet holes. While Ross is yet to speak on the matter, HipHopDX spoke with “Freeway” Ricky Ross, who said that he’s “not surprised” that the shooting took place, as well as Gunplay, who has talked with Ross and confirmed that he’s “good.” Pusha T also shared the same news after checking on Ross through their mix engineer, while Ross reportedly hired 24-hour security for protection.

Chris Brown & Frank Ocean Come To Blows At Los Angeles, California Studio

Chris Brown and Frank Ocean had some R&Beef this week. On Sunday evening, the two were at the same studio and got into an altercation over a parking spot. Reports indicated that Ocean and friends stopped Chris Brown and told him, “This is my studio. This is my parking spot.” Breezy then attempted to shake Ocean’s hand but then Ocean and his entourage reportedly attacked the singer. Ocean, who reportedly wants to press charges against Brown, stayed on the scene to talk with police while Brown stormed off. An eyewitness later said that Brown was the first one to throw a punch in the fight, and “managed to break almost everything in the [lobby]” when the fight moved inside. That night, Ocean, whose debut Channel Orange was certified gold and will perform at the Grammy Awards, took to Twitter to say that he got “jumped” by Brown and a couple of guys and that he wishes his dog Everest was there to back him up.
